i'm visiting texas from a high altitude (albuquerque) & it started throwing codes 0174 (system too lean bank 2) and 0300 (multiple cylinder misfire detected)...is this elevation related or am i on the verge of fuel pump failure?
It seems to me that if i was experiencing fuel pump failure, it would be lean on both banks.....make sense?

my car threw the bank 1 and 2 to lean codes, replaced my air filter and put in better gas. in higher alltitudes your octanes are different 85,87,89 were the choices up in denver which is 5000 ft. that was 3 months ago and the code hasn't come on yet. as far as the other codes i don't know.

Yea I just bought my 2000 Z28 from Houston and drove it back to San Angelo about 400 miles Northwest of Houston it was warm and humid in Houston and its about 50 degrees in San Angelo and a day after I got back my SES light came on and the code was 171 Bank 1 Too Lean I also started using 91-93 octane gas Im sure the previous owner was using 87-89 octane.

Missfires of the random, multiple type could mean-optispark, coil, or ICM (ignition control module) failures.
The others are probably defective O2 sensors.

My SES light stays on but the car runs super good so I hope its just a bad o2 sensor!!

Check your air pump fuse. Or it could be a post cat O2.

well, i cleaned the bank 2 sensor 1 o2 & it stopped for a while. but came back at the track at prarie hill, texas. i got back to albuquerque & yanked the *BORG WARNER* o2 sensor and took it back to checker for a warrenty replacement (seeing as it was only 7 months old) & found that they discontinued carrying that product because they are having a HUGE problem with them failing prematurly. they replaced both my #1 o2 sensors with bosch .......no more codes! thank you checker!
