the icm is on the coil, when Z28.com's went out it killed the car.it would turn over, but wouldnt fire
we replaced his opti and his fuelpump before we took mine off and tried it on his.fired right up.
what symtoms are you having?

well it turns over but wont start and i am not getting any spark. but on my car the icm is separate form the coil it is mounted right above it. i replaced the coil already today. and it still dont get spark out the coil. the coil has 2 connectors on it though one of the gets voltage and the other doesnt at all even when i crank that other set runs back to the ecm and that why i think either my icm or ecm is toast.. thats why i wanted to know if i could test either one of them separetly.

no easy test for module, most module problems start out heat related, the factory tachs have had short problems, burn out tach filter (gm bandaid), and then eat ign modules for lunch, my car was down for 5 months cause of this 2 months at home ( 3 modules later never made it out of the garage) 3 months at the dealer where they put 31 modules on the car before figuring out tach was the problem. my solution on the gray coil connector the white wire is the tach feed cut it from the factory harness and hook up after market tach. $79 at jegs and has shift light. when changing ign module use the grease on the back to help transfer heat to the heat sink
