Hey I've heard of people gutting their cats out. What exactly does that mean and how do you do that. And if you do that will you gain HP. I live in MI. so I don't have to worry about emissions really.

Gutting the cat is a literal term.
Remove the converter from the car and use a peice of pipe to smash, crush and remove the catalitic honeycomb element in the converter.
Wear a dust mask since this stuff is a know carcenegenic.
As for HP gains this will vary but your removing a significant restriction in the exhaust system. If you couple this with a good cat back exhaust system and post cat headers you can expect to see as much as 30 HP.

just buy a catco high flow cat and you will get the hp gains without destroying your cat and jeoperdizing your emissions

i got mine from ebay there are some right now going for $37.95+14.00 shipping just put "catco cat" there are also some at summitracing.com but those are $66-88 with free ground shipping i got a 3" cat and put 3" pipe from the cat to my flowmaster
