turn signal switch

My turn signal switch went out on my 82 Z. Has anyone replaced this before the repair manuel I have sucks and does not show a good diagram. So If anyone has replaced one let me know how to replace it.

it's kinda tough but it can be done if you have the proper tools the steering wheel has to be removed and the plate under it then you should be able to see the screws for the switch remove them and disconnect the wireing under the column and feed it through the column to remove the switch you will also have to remove the flasher button and the signal lever ... thats kinda the simple explenation of how to get at it.
