I was planning on putting a cat back system in and i was wondering if there was a big difference in performance and sound between dynomax and flowmaster.

I'd go w/the dynomax. Can't beat it for the price and performance. Can you get the Dynomax w/the 3" primary pipe? The last time I checked on it Summit said they didn't make it w/the 3" pipe.

i dont think so, i think it comes in 2.5. i will probably put the dynomax in and see how it sounds worst comes to worst i can always buy a flowmaster muffler on ebay.

I don't know but have heard the Flowmaster stuff is more restictive then stock components. What are they asking for the Dynomax catback?

I have FlowMaster on my car & it sounds great. I also have a Flowmaster (was on before we bought it) on my truck. Man I like the sound of it. Helps my truck get up & scoot. Not only that It makes a mean sound which lets slow people know I am coming.

Might even put Flowmaster on the 72Skylark we just got

This is true . They are the worst performance muffler out there. But they sound good  I got a 3"dynomax ultra I pipe ( true 3"I.D ) and a straightthrough muffler for outback .....no dual tips . All them mufflers are to restrictive IMO. Just make sure its a manaderal bent 3"setup . If you are looking for a kit ? Go with a banks setup ....very cheap but one of the best made I have ever seen ! Sounds real nice too.

Dynomax Ultraflo or Super turbo? Ultraflo yes, Super turbo no. I am not a fan of flowmaster so i would buy an edelbrock

i was lookin at a 2.5 inch kit for dynomax that was super turbo it cost about 170 and then there was the 40 series kit from flowmaster for about 320. im not exactly looking at the performance but more for sound quality.

If all you want is sound ....go with the HoeMaster :) . But if I was getting an aftermarket kit ....I would just get a 3"anythnig and call it a day .

I have the flowmaster and it sounds great. The contraversy over performance well it is a chamber style muffler but will give better performance than OEM or midas. Performance wise I'd go Magnaflow, SLP, dynamax, borla, quite a few to choose from.

i put an ultraflo dynomax on my car and it has a quiet idle but when the rpm's go up it screams, i like the mufflers you can look through:-) go with the ultraflo's

Yeah Ultraflow ...got the y pipe BN for 200 ...got me an IMCO 3" IN/OUT muffler for 80 .... so I guess I got a hell of a deal.

Dynomax SuperTurbos have been proven to outflow Flowmaster "40" and "50" series below 3500 rpm and they are quieter at idle.Dynomax does make a 3" system,as has been stated, but you have to pay real close attention when ordering.
