I have just picked up a 1993 Z28. I have long wanted a muscle car to mess around with. Since I cannot afford the chevy I truly want I picked up a very nice Z28. I was wondering what kind of quarter mile times can be expected from a stock LT1. I would also like some advise on where to start when hopping it up. I want this to become a very fast daily driver. I would very much like to hook up with a person who has a car like mine to see what I need to do and expect. I'm looking forward to talking to the members of this site and maybe even adding my two cents.

Nice selection on a car :) As far as 1/4 times I would say low to mid 14s stock and maybe a little quicker its just hard to say. What did you get an auto or M6?
Most people start with a cold air induction kit, catback exhaust, and headers. After that you can always go into the heads and cam portion of the motor for more power. The thing to remember is the rearend in your car is not the best of rearends so if your going to build the motor you will need to either build up the one you have at the minimum but I would suggest getting a 12 bolt or 9 inch just for the fact that they are practically indestructible and for the ease of mind at the track :)
If you have an auto you might want to get you some 3.73 gears and if you have an M6 you could go with the 3.73 or 4.10 and that will give your car a little bit of get up and go for some cheap money unless you do the whole rearend like I was saying above :)
You might have a vibration at highway speeds and if you do more than likely it will be your driveshaft. There are a lot of people with our cars that are buying the 1LE or LS1 aluminum driveshafts and installing them because they seem to fix the vibration problem from an out of balance driveshaft.
Pretty much anything form a 93-97 will interchange except the fact that your car is speed density and the 94 up is a Mass Airflow system. There are some free mods out there too and many sites give you step by step instructions on what to do to your car to get them. I have most of them on my car but for the life of me the only one I can think of right now is the throttle body bypass one :) What this does is reroute your coolant so it doesnt flow through your throttle body and heat up the air that is passing through.
I am sure you will get all the answers you need here at this site and even though I havent been here long from what I have seen these are a bunch of great guys that are willing to help with anything anyone needs.

Well start out with a tb bypass. Then I would get some a cai after that maybe get exhaust followed by maybe some no2 wet shot if you want results RIGHT NOW.

Thanks - What is the recommended cold air unit and exhaust. I read peoples adds and everybody says they have the best exhaust. I want to know what sounds good and works good from actual owners. thank you again for taking the time to answer my post.

Idk cai are the same to me but K&N has a good one. Exhaust would be maybe slp loudmouth or if you have money to burn get corsa. I love the way corsa exhausts sound.

Hey, going back to what Fanta-Z was saying about the tranny. If you have an automatic, one suggested upgrade from a friend of mine who had an auto '95 Z28 was a torque converter. When it comes to exhaust, I think a good combination I've seen is a set of Hooker longtubes with an offroad Y-pipe and stock catback. It gives you a much increased throughput with the sound not being too unbearable.
