Hey gang. Any ideas here. Maybe its just me. But to me it seems my z just doesnt seem quick enough. Im guessing because i have stock mainaflods and stock exhaust soon to change to mangaflow. :) But what else can i do.
Will a y-pipe help? Or a new thottle body? Or what can you suggest?
Thanks.

get some long tubes and a complete exhaust setup. how much are you looking to spend?

CAI, full 3" exhaust (or true duals  ), headers, msd ignition, cam swap, ported heads, ported intake manifold, 58mm TB

in that order :)

CAI, full exahust, 3:73 gears, stall, rear suspenion.

You will feel the difference with that, just basic bolt on's. You will be jumping of the line real good then.

Real simple do what I did, just drop the car off at your local speed shop hand them your credit card and tell em to call you when they are done:)

intake, full exhaust ie LT's, custom tune, gears, stall if auto...if that aint enough then its time to get it cammed or even a head and cam job

how 'bout this, send me your LT1, and i'll send you my 305. you put the 305 in your car, and i'll put your LT1 in my car. after a couple weeks you'll think your Z is too quick enough :D im game if you are! :D

Sure no problem. Let me borrow you card.:) :)
Ok guess i should have been more specific. Headders for now are out of the question. I can not spend alot. I just payed off my rims. About $700
I just bought a MAGNAFLOW exhaust. About $300. I guess i was looking for something simple. I have a K&N fipk. And air foil. Tb bypass.

i would consider a standard tune up first. I have a basically stock m6 with borla and that thing is plenty powerful, for being near stock. Maybe your loosing power becasue it needs a freshen up?

full exhaust, cam w/ a P/P, bigger injectors, better pump, 58mm tb, go-juice,

but a set of gears will make you feel the biggest difference

if you really want to feel a difference in your stock z, motor work isnt crap if you cant get it to the ground, start with your rear, for under 400 you can get 4:10 or 3:73, that will make a HUGE difference, next do your tranny...and so on, basically what im trying to say is, push as much as you can out of that 350 before you modify it. also you can plant that power to the ground with suspension work and you will get more of a "seat of your pants" feel...i will tell you honestly, if you cant plant a stock Z with 4:10 gears, you will not be dissapointed!!

Yea, quite a few folks have told me a 3500 stall TC won't increase the HP but it can lower the 1/4 ET's since the launch can be wicked. This WILL put a heavy load on the rest of the drivetrain so be ready to upgrade everything after the tranny. Like was said above, 3.73's i think will give the best overall performance-daily driving compromise.

Be VERY careful going with the spray. Though i don't have one yet, a LOT of people preach that if you don't spend the money and design the system correctly, you'll blow something up.

i just went back to driving my 90' f250 for a week and when i got back in my Z it was faster than ever :D
if that doesnt work, any of the above ideas should do it for ya.

NO2 and subframes, you loose a lot of power just from flex, get the underside ready before you start with the power adders and stock LT1's are far from slow... Ride in a stock GT and you'll feel better about your Z
