I need some help, I took my old cd player out and bought the correct gm wiring harness and put in an aftermarket cd player..all of the wires are on correctly (you can't mess that up its color coordinated) everything comes on but I get no sound at all, then I plug the old radio in and it works fine? it has aftermarket speakers also and its a 93 with bose. any help would definately be appreciated

There was a post on here somewhere where they were having the same problem. A lot of people say that your aftermarket radio will not work. I guess I got lucky in my car because I put an Alpine in it and it works fine. Do a search and see if you can come up with the post I am talking about because it might have the info that your looking for.

I checked with my brother (He is a professional installer. the company he works for is the only certified installer for FORD, employee of the year two straight years)
He says that all aftermaket stereos have a blue "turn-on lead" that powers on the factory amp. He said that the factory speakers get their power from the factory amp. If this is not connected properly, you will get no sound.

I think my friends just bypassed the factory amp becuase it sucked and put a new one in. Might want to try that.
