I was installing an upgraded main body on my carb over the weekend along with some other upgraded parts for my carb(jet extensions, nitrophyl floats, etc). I noticed that on the inside of my intake there is some rust that runs down about a 1/4" from the top all the way around the inside of the plenum. Now, I was already planning on either a new intake (polished vic jr from edelbrock) or having mine stripped and refinished. I don't think it would be smart to drive her around for another month in this condition. I wasn't planning on doing this untill next month but you know how that goes...

Should I just eat PB&Js for the rest of the month and fix it now? And which option would you go for a new intake or have this one cleaned up and refinished? Should I just have it sand blasted and polished or should I get dipped, stripped and polished?

Let me just clarify it looks like it's actually the manifold itself is rusting???
It appears that the previous owner had the inatake painted or powder-coated and its start to flake off and under the paint appears to be coroded or something, weird I know...

ull probly be fine running ur car with it seeing as u have gone this far with it like that, i would look at it all as price wise, if redoing ur old intake is cheaper than a new one and will is be just as great as a new one and u feel like going thru the trouble of finding a place that will strip it then might as well stick with it, if not get a new one. but also have some one check the intake out or post some pics up of it
