has anyone located their iat sensor furthur downstream from tb.? maybe into the air box where air would be cooler wouldnt this fool computer and make it think it was getting cooler air all the time (which it would actually )?

I have it done on my car. It is located right beside the K&N air filter.

It will make a difference until the block learn multipiers in the PCM set themselves to compensate. This may take a day or two. Same sort of thing happens when adjusting the fuel pressure.
Now if your car is running rich from a header install and you are still on a stock program, them yeah, it will help some if your multipiers are maxed out. This is rare though. The use of temp in the calc for the base pulse width of the injectors is very small.
If you want to lean the car out "everywhere" then you should look at having the inj. constant changed in the PCM. If you only want to lean it out in a certain rpm range then change the MAF tables in the PCM will do it. This is the only permanet way.
