Took me a while to remember what the issue what this actually was but I've finally remembered.
Its not the bulbs that give an issue with this swap, its the bulb sockets. The way they lock into place on the LT1's is different from the LS1. The bulbs are different and they way they function is different (if you just tried to do a plug and play you'd only get 1 bulb to flash for the turn signal instead of the whole unit).
At the very least you need an LT1 harness for the sockets (i've seen a few people here offer them up). But i'm still unsure of how you'd wire it up so that the whole unit would blink. I found a way to do it as long as the brakes weren't applied, i'm guessing you'd need to put a relay inline somewhere. *shrug* I'll keep ya posted if I find something.
