New to site, rear brake question...

Hey everybody, excellent site you have here, glad one of my friends turned me on to it. Lots of good info here.

I have a question-problem I hope someone can help me out with on my 2002 SS. My parking brake actuator levers that come out of the rear backing plate make a rattling noise when driving over bumps in the road. I know it is the levers making the noise because when I pull up on the parking brake lever while driving to put tension on the levers, the rattling stops. The rubber boots are a little rotted but those are not available unless you buy the entire backing plate, which I don't want to have to do. (not sure if that would even fix the problem) Does anybody have a fix for this annoying rattle? Please help.

Also, is there an adjustment for the cable?
