The RPO codes on my 2002 F-body says it has an LS1 in it. Granted the LS1 in '01 and '02 has the same intake manifold that was changed for the LS6, and some, including mine, have the block developed for the LS6, but is is definitely not an LS6. I wish it were so. The heads and cam are different from the LS6, the head is the same as the earlier LS1s, the cam on the '01-'02 is the LQ4 truck cam, which flattened the torque curve a little.
