Honestly how can any of us buy a camaro?

This is not a bashing thread of the camaro, just so everyone knows.

With the shelby mustang the mark up on is about 40k. Roughing making the car around 80 to 90K to buy from the dealer.

The new dodge challenger srt8 has about a 20-30K Mark up in price.

I have been to more then one dealership in my area in baltimore.

So my point being is.. What makes anyone here think that the new camaro is not going to have outrageous mark up? Gm can build the car for a good price, but the dealers can screw us all they want.

If the dealers are smart they will not mark up the car.... Unfortuntatly that probably isnt going to happen..

If they would sell them without any markup then they would do more business by volume which in turn would help GM. It would also help persude thoes would be mustang and challenger buys to possibly buy a Camaro and convert them.

I feel your pain bro, cause I am wanting one some kinda bad. But is the dealer is going to be stupid crazy about the markup prices I may have to wait..Otherwise I will have one sitting here soon.

yeah im pretty sure I have been to mostly every ford dealer ship in baltimore, every new shelby is between high 70's and low 90's.

Been to a few dodge dealerships. 60k seems to be the going price.

We hava a dealer here that I frequent often the owner says he will not makrk them up just like he doesn't with any specailty vehicle they sell. Guess that is why he sells tons of cars to generations of owners. Small town dealer. I do know that the first one from his dealer has been promised to my engine builder. He is gonna rip the motor right out and has a motor that will be going right into it. I think he is trying to have the first one built up.

I will be honest guys i work at a chevy dealership and they say that they are not going to mark the cars up like that. I think that they will be priced really well. They dont really have a choice cause lets face it GM is in bad shape. This car is one of TWO cars that will pull GM out of the PITS OF HELL it has put itself in. The other the chevy VOLT if they get it to work. So if any of the dealers are smart they will price them to sell not to deepen there pockets.

there are nearly 4,000 chevy dealers out there -- JUST SAY NO!

Yes - Shelby Mustangs are rare -- there are limited numbers -- we don't plan to keep the Camaro "rare"

Yeah like anything right when they come out they'll be stupid expensive. I remember the z06s going for around 100k or so when they first came out, 70k my ass lol. Anyways, I'm sure they will be expensive when they first come out. What I fear is that these morons mark it up, it bombs big time and the car disappears because the GM just listens to it's bean counters. Just like the GTO, man that car had a lot of potential, GM screwed that one up big time. Sexy car with a HUGE price, so everyone ran away from it. The LS2 was done right, sexy as hell but unfortunately it was too late.

I will be honest. I first hated the 5th gen, thought it was gaudy and the extra weight still scares me. Where in the hell does this extra weight come from, seriously, I'm very curious? I have come around tho, plus they changed a few cosmetics, it looks pretty darn good. If it's over 30k tho it's not happening unless it's for that Z28, IF that happens. Otherwise screw it, I'll get a used c5 z06 LOL.

Are you able to tell us if a Z28 model is official? Cause THAT is what I would be interested. Don't know if that supercharged LS3 is just some rumor if you guys have plans. Figure it's worth asking LOL.

If you guys make the Z28 like this I will be first in line to buy one I KID YOU NOT! Whoever made this has the right idea, sooooooooooo beautiful.

The Dealer that I will be buying my camaro, Sutliff chevrolet, they have brand new z06 corvettes for about $500 under msrp and that's with out any of the gm incentives and they said that when/if they get a zr1 in it will be the same about as the z06's as in msrp at the most. their partner dealership which sells cadillacs and hummers are the same way, a cadillac xlr-v for $100,000 not the msrp $101,300 and that's for one with only 35miles on it.

keep in mind that you are pricing SHELBY's not just regular mustang GTs and the Challenger is an overpriced pos.

Scott has made it clear numerous times that the pricing will be comparative to the current mustang models...

meaning
mustang v6 ~ camaro v6 (cost only)
mustang GT ~ Camaro SS (cost only)
