How the SS Compares

I was just curious to see what cars the SS could beat in the quarter mile. I did some research and found some impressing results. Most of the specs came from edmunds and motortrend. The only ones that may slightly differ are the corvette which said 12.7-13.0 depending on location and the M6 that promises 12.8 but only reached a best time of 13.0

oh so that what it was. The other day I ran into a Mustang on the freeway but it looked kinda funny. It didn't have the fat rear end. Looking at photos it was absolutley a 2010 Mustang GT. No wonder it was so peppy and why he kept reving at me.

I saw on "Powerblock" (spike's car shows on sat mornings) SLP has a Firehawk G8 that you can get with a supercharger and a buncha other goodies. I don't know any specs but it looked pretty nice. I'm not sure how the current Firehawk guys feel about a 4-door Firehawk that's not even a bird. I would imagine it's numbers a little different as well.

And I think the 2010 mustang is even f-uglier than before.

i agree with like all of those but im almost positive the SRT8 runs a like 13.3 and the gt500 is in te mid 12's and viper may bee right but i thought it was faster

I just tried looking up more sources and you are correct, the srt800 runs 13.3 in the quarter mile. I took the car's time it was comparing it to (G8 GT)

The lowest time I see for the Gt500 is 12.7, mustang forums are reporting 12.9. Here's 1 link stating 12.9

ive been obsessed with viper and camaro since i was little and im almost positive the slowest viper is about a 12.6 to 12.8. that is one sweet looking car

You are more than likely correct, I just did some quick searches. I don't know a whole heck of a lot about Vipers.

For the extra cash of the GT500 or the SRT8 over the Camaro, I think you could make up the difference in power... plus, they just look better hahah

I agree, I'll take the 2SS w/ $10K in mods over the stock GT500 any day

lol, I'd take a 2SS Camaro with a bushing kit, some aftermarket shocks, and a STS kit over A LOT...

normally id agree but i dont think any car can beat this or the sound of one of them their so amazing
i do like the new camaro a lot but this thing is just amazing and if you look at GM concept cars they have another car thats coming out that kinda looks like the camaro love my camaro too but for the 120K or a 2SS camaro for 35k id take the Viper lololololol no one else on teh street will have it

those are nice but i think the new corvette zr1 is right with it or even alittle faster if im not mistaken. and as far as the pontiac goes gm is going to stop making pontiac all together, sorry for the trans am and gto fans.

It may just be the older ones, but I head a 06ish Viper once, and I think they sound like crap at idle and/or low RPM driving.
