And no i havent had any problems with my rear end (knock on wood). But my friend blew his rear end, he had 315 nitto's, launched at about 5K( at track), and sprayed off the line (2001 SS).
My friend has the same tire on his car. I beleive he's on his 4th or 5th rear end now. My other friend has a line lock on his t/a. It's cool, but it's not needed. I wouldn't heat up a straight up radial tire b/c it causes the belts to heat up which will cause the tread to "cup" leaving a smaller contact patch, but you may want to do a very mild one to get the water off the tires if you can't go around the burnout box.
