OK first off, No aluminum factory wheels are tighten to 100 ft/lbs. Only Cheep steelies. Unless this changed in the past 4 years I believe its only 75ft/lbs. More torque was found to distort the rims.

You have to get the correct lugnuts. Off the top of my head I do not know if the Vette rims are the exact hubcentric mount as the camaros but regardless of that fact the Taper helps to center the rin on the lug. Without this the rim will have a little bit if play to loosen. Also look that the surface on the rim that the lug rides against, 10-1 there is some damage there from the wrong lugs @ the wrong clamping force.

As for the Caliper, it may have just been a freak thing. Be glad that all you needed was a bolt.
