But you bought the car that had the problem...
I guess I just don't get it. If this was my problem I would just take matters into my own hands. Well, warranty's out, dealership doesn't care - time to just take action and do it myself. Though I am five f-bodies deep and have never had this issue. To me this is like any other 'typical' fbody problem...whether you cite the inevitable failing of the 10 bolt, the oil consumption, piston slap, etc it's just part of the whole package.
Good luck though, hopefully they can work something out for you.
