I have a 98 Blazer for my winter driver, I can tell you one thing, the 4.3 will run forever! Mine has 180K on it now althrough you would never now it buy looking at it because it is pretty clean and fully loaded.
Some things to look out for are ball joints, I just had mine replaced and a friend of mine at the dealership told me they have a problem with those, I don't know like I said mine has 180K and those were the orignal's in it.
Also the Blazer goes through snow with out a problem, I have drove through drifts up to the mirrors with mine and did not even slow it down.
Mine gets about 17mpg also

Like Z/YA said there great trucks. They have a full frame on them since they are based upon the s-10 and the 4.3 is a great motor. They have issues with the intake gaskets but what GM dosent and they had some fuel pump issues.

Mine has heated seats and about 4 other buttons to set your seat up any way your heart desires!
The back can be cramped if you have 3 people back there, but how often do you have 5 people in a truck any ways?

Oh and somethings I forgot, mine was a drug vehicle that I bought at a police auction for $1800 so it came with a few options the GM did not include on the truck.
Such as:
2 brand new Dewalt 14V drills in the box
15 stands of Beads (um... well you know)
25 CD's (all rap, nothing I like)
1 new Optima battery
2 new razor cell phones
1 digital camera
1 small bag of wacky weed

When we bought it from the auction it was locked and the police never went through it and removed anything for some reason and the pervious owners never came back for anything.

HA! I wonder why the previous owner did not come back for it

Sounds like you got a good deal minus the wacky weed I doubt the one I'm looking at will have all the bells and whistles like your score but it is a 4X4 and fairly clean and as for the room I'm about 6' 1" and my brother is about one inch taller will that accommodate if he sits in the back?

Yeah you should be alright I'm about 6', is it a 4 door? the 2 doors are a pain to get into the back seat.
My dad is 6'4" and he looks a little cramped in the passenger seat but not to bad

I have a 2000 Jimmy, which is basically the same thing. As stated before,.. it will run forever! Ride is comfortable and you can go basically anwhere you need to. I highly recommend!!

Just saw this. We have a 98 Blazer. Been good for us. Have replaced the radiator, the fule pump and the alternator. However it does have about 170K on it and those items do not last forever. Been a good vehicle for the most part.

One thing about travel. Just like the F-Bods it does have the converter hump in the pass side floor. Extremely uncormfortable for long periods IMO.

Good luck.
