spoiler nut backed out

well it seems it finally happened to me...

one of the nuts on the spoiler backed out and is now rattling around in the trunk lid...

I plan on bringing her to the dealer next week for a check up and an few fixes that have been needing repairs since I had it.

1.) USB port isnt workin

2.) slight miss at idle

3.) now the spoiler nut repair..

all in all I can say that even being an early production low # car #227 we haven had many issues that I thought I would. Still have the perma-grin every time I get behind the wheel.

PS: she now has over 5k on the clock and still sports the new car smell

Thanks GM!!

I just hope the dealership treats her with care and returns her in better condition than when I drop her off. So please pray for the dealership..

When you do take it in make sure you write down the mileage. The dealerships around here like to take other peoples things out for joyrides and I could see the same happening with a new car that is still in such high demand. The problems you described seem pretty minor though and I can't see needing to keep it over night or anything so you would/should know if your car disappears for awhile.

Just keep your fingers crossed that yours isn't the first one they have had to take apart. I'm sure you know from experience how easily things can get broken or damaged when you are first taking a new car apart even if you have the proper tools. Best of luck brother, hopefully it all goes well.

yup the milage will be documented by me & the service manager before I drop it off. There isnt any need for a test drive with the things they are addressing.

Yes, I know to well about bad dealer experiences... this is Why I have waited till now to even bring it in. The USB & miss at idle are probably PCM program issues... but even so, I just didnt want to be the first gunea pig they work on..

It may not hurt to let them know you are very particular about your car and that any scratch or whatever will be noticed by you. Part of the difficulty with new cars is not allowing it to make you/me into a not so nice customer when things go wrong. That is part of the reason I sold my 'precious' 69 SS Chevelle so many years ago. As long as it doesn't become a graven image you will be ok.

Let them think you are anal....you have every right to be, just as any car owner who takes pride in their car. With such a high demand car, Im sure they should expect it. Not everyone gets the chance to see one up close and personal or be behind the wheel so someone Im sure would think they could go enjoy it. Just let them know that you will know if that happens

Hope they treat her well Bro and all gets straightened out!!

What is wrong with your USB port? You can use a long, thin magnet to fish out that screw if necessary, but if you are taking it to the dealership anyway, then don't bother.
