Power Window Issue (electrical)

Drivers side power window stops working intermittently. I thought it was the switch but replacing it did not cure the problem. Checked the connections between the plug and the switch - everything seems OK. Looked in the manual, they talk about a power window control module mounted above the transmission tunnel near the firewall (under the carpet?).

Note: I manage to get the window closed by repeating my attempts. Has anyone run across this?

thanks

Idk about yours but mine will roll down but wont roll up for about an hour. The motor is going out on mine though.

Check your fuses maybe?

Its not a fuse. Fuse is ether good or bad they dont randomily work. Your most likly got a window motor going bad. Whats happening is when it gets hot its siezing up so it stops, then when it cools down it will work again. Best way to determine whats wrong is to take the door panel off and check for power at the motor when it stops working. If the motor has power going to it but not working then the motor is bad. If it does not have power then you need to straight tracing the power wires and find out where the power is stoping at.

Most likely its the window motor....GM wasnt the greatest with those for a while. Im willing to bet its the motor going bad, and they are cheap enough to replace if you do yourself. Just remember to clamp the regulator so you dont lose a finger when you take the motor off of it lol.

Since all the previous posts will most likely solve your problem. I take a stab at the other question in our OP.. What they are calling the power window control module is a small plugable box under the dash that controls the express down function of the drivers side. EG: when you hold the down switch over a second the window opens on it's own and then the module removes voltage when the window hits the bottom (module senses motor stall current).
