Dummy switch slot has wires going to it???

Just found this and have no idea what they are for. To the right of my fog light switch is a dummy switch, like where another factory switch would go, but the funny thing is it has wires going to it.

Is it for a factory option like traction control? Something that my car didn't come with?

Thanks,
Steve

TCS or SGS (second gear start). My wife had the sgs in her car, I have ASR, but I have a 96.

SGS if for the autos, it allows them to start off in second gear when the roads are wet or icy. But, since you have an M6, I have no idea.

My car doesn't have ASR so I think that's what it is for my car.

Most late model cars have just one wiring harness no matter what options (it's cheaper and easier for the manufacturer). Check the wire colors against a wiring diagram, it's probably SGS or ASR.

Bingo. It's just easier/cheaper to engineer one wiring harness and install it. Almost all manufacturers do it this way.

No, you'd need all the other sensors and electronics to go with it.
