Question ignition switch woes?

ok my car would not go into the acc position when i wanted to just listen to the radio and wait for someone to get ready. i finally got tired of it not working so i grabbed another ignition switch from oriellys and figured when i got off work i'd mess with it. after work it took me about 2 hours to get it changed and set to where everything worked right. after i get it all buttoned i start on my trip home city lots of traffic after about 4 lights i notice that my turn signals just stop working less than a min later my ses light comes on and my abs light lights up. im like a couple of blocks from autozone so i figured that i'd get them to scan it. but after waiting threw another light my fans stopped working and my car was starting to overheat. i pulled into taco bueno tore everything back down to the ignition switch thinking maybe a bad or loose connection. i find nothing so i pull the switch and just plug in the old one and click it to the run pos with a screwdriver and everything is back to working fine. i really want to get my acc position to work but i need everything else to work as well. do you think it was just a bad part they sold me? as of right now i've got my old switch hanging under my dash that works every position but acc.. and the new switch doesn't supply power to all my important systems?

oh the cars a 94 z28 lt1 auto power everything
