150 mph speedometer for all F-bodies

Finally found where to buy a 150 speedo replacment for my factory 115 mph guage.

http://www.tacreationsusa.com/gauge_clusters.htm

only $100 bucks for my 95 Z-28

only bad thing is this is a used cluster and doesnt keep your existing milleage ( i assume)?

or you can get yours, rebuilt for $150 to $250 speedometer pluss or something, i dont care about that tho, i just want to see my cars correct speed, once i hpp 3 it to remove the limiter

I do not know if this is true but I read a thread once that said that the PCM keeps the actual mileage in memory somewhere.
Anyone know more about this? Also, I don't see how to reprogram the PCM to read the 150 correctly. Tunercat doesn't seem to have a setting for that.

As far as the used gauge goes

"Speedometer upgrade - All speedometers with higher readings, such as 140 or 150 mph, are interchangeable with 85 or 115 mph gauges with no alterations, as long as replaced with the same year cluster."

As far as the company goes, and of course the mileage is not digital, so I don't see how that will affect that anyway.

Will find out, I'm gonna prder one next week.

I'm not sure it would need to be reprogrammed to read up to 150. I think they just put the speed limiter in the ones with a 115 mph speedo to keep it from going over the mark.

Did you have to do anything special, or was a direct bolt in?

Most people, if ur planning on selling it locally, and even if ur not, won't plug it into a comp to see if its the actual mileage or not. It's a good trick to add a few thous. to ur book value. Just don't get caught.

Anyway, the new gauge cluster works great, I carefully wrote down all my speed/rpm at diff speeds and in diff gears to make D@MN sure that I don't get my calibration off

with the new cluster everything is exactly the same (speed/rpm), except now it goes to 150

P.S. just make sure the replacement gauge cluster is same year and engine. those guys at (www.tacreationsusa.com) lead me down the RIGHT PATH and had my part on my doorstep A.S.A.P.

only problem is now my car only has 80k (had 90k)

also, the whole job only took me 1 hr to install and that includes droping my socket in the dash and having to pull all of it back out (had to borrow another socket) again to get it out! DUH....

be cafefull, dont force any pieces, they are all screwed down 9mm (i think) and phillups head drivers (except) peice that is buy the windshield, carefully pry up with your fingers, dont break (velcrow fasteners)

So this TA Creations is on the level? I will give them a shot. Did you just install it with the stock black face, or did you do white/other?
