paging Shoebox/experts

Well right now my car is running on a stock pcm trying to read 3.73's and a 3400 stall first off, but I dont the tune will solve this..

The problem is this- the fuel cuts off on my car HORRIBLY..under normal driving. I took it to the shop today thats installing my full exhaust and it was about an hr trip that was horrible. The longer I drove the bigger prob I have. I'd floor the car and it would just backfire/missfire and the RPMS would just bounce. Everytime I start the car it fires right up so I do not think it is plugs/wires. Today I just ordered an MSD opti (for $430 ) so I am thinking that it better be the problem. The only other prob I could think of would be the fuel pump. I just fixed a lot of tranny probs and now I have this problem..it never ends..

So experts, please tell me you're 90% sure the prob is the opti?? My car has 60k orig miles

Does it do it at all times or only after it warms up?

Right now with the info you give id say it could be anything from a bad injector, bad 02's, bad ECM, bad coil, or even the opti.. can you give some more description of how/when it does it?

BTW, your going to !ABSOLUTELY LOVE! the true duals your going to be putting on! (unless you already got them on.. if so, how are they? )

Luckily I'm getting lots of that stuff changed..Gettin new 02's,tune,opti,plugs, and wires all knocked out at the same time so I'm hoping to be cured. I know the duals are gonna sound good man I cant wait!

And btw-once the car heats up more then it starts acting up..

If you want to rule out fuel pressure, you have to test it with gauge (when the problem is occurring).

Time how long it takes after a cold startup before it starts happening.. if it does it like exactly 2-3 minutes that means its the 02 sensors since thats when it goes into closed loop.. but if its fine up untill after the engine reaches normal temps, then i would bet on the ECM

Been troubleshooting with it, I'll keep updating, any more advice is welcome.

In my personal experience, when the fuel pump goes, you'll feel the car flatten out. You can get a Fuel Pressure guage at checker for less than 30 bucks, I think I bought mine for 15, and it is definitely worth it (broke the 13 second barrier with an FPR, the gauge, CAI and a cat back.) as long as you know where you should be with the fuel. In your case, it sounds an awful lot like an opti, or a clogged cat... but if you got a new exhaust, then I start thinking O2's are bad. If you have an ALDL cable, I would check and see what you're running. That also is a good investment.
