94 RS 3.4 electrictal help

I sold my 94 Z28 M6 and it has been a while since I posted last.

NowI am working on my son's 94 RS 3.4. We have changed out drivers side door, left fender and front bumper cover. Removed the engine and performed an overhaul reinstalled the engine. The engine runs well enough however the SES light stays on with high idle and the shift points dont feel natural.

We went to EFILive and downloaded free EVI V4/GM278 on an old laptop and connected the laptop via cable to the diagnostic port. Either this won't work or we don't know how to operate this system.

I need a wiring diagram. Where can I get one online. The Haynes manual we have is not any help in this area.

1) This car has OBD1 correct???
2) What is a good digonistic tool for this car? Where can I get it?
3) Where can I get a wiring diagram?
4) Where can I get a manual that gives diagonistic procedures for electrictal components?

Your help and suggestions are much appreciated

i have a 95 and the problem is that there is no free software that you can download to scan or tune....darn lucky lt1s...if the car runs adance auto have a obd1 scanners and dont charge....or if you want some major tunning softwares will do the trick i think hptunner says some stuff but double check....as for the wiring if your that good and doing all this by your self i really recommend buying the book from the dealer i spent about 100 bucks (3years ago) for the 93 camaro and it shows EVERYTHING...it list everywiring, location, how tos, 3.4 , 3.8, 5.7...at so on absolutly way better then haynes(which i have to)....and its about 3 times its width size.

if is something small you have trouble hucking up tell me and i might just look it up my self or maybe i know...for the software i have searched and searched you have to by a obd1 scanner or email some large companies, hptuner, cats, etc.

I was doing some reading and tested and i dont even think the v4 from efilive even supports your car....however they do have a 95 v6 manual 3.4 manual on there....i was able to get mine hucked up but im still having some issues....so i thought i let you know of my progress and see if it helps you....

i have a ibm laptop and bought a while back a obd1 / aldu1 combo from moates.net.......however my car is has a obd2 connector and obd1 pcm......i just used shoebox way of hucking up......then moats aldu1 conveter box as a switch on the back of it....i moved that to the bottom....then selected my defintion file.....went to vehicle edite and selected 8192 bps.....then clicked the chatter buttom.....both chatter and interface should turn green if not keep messing with it...i got it to huck up and give me some data but im still trying to understand efilive scann....

so i hope this helps a lil bit.

It's not an RS, by the way. it's just a regular old v6.

Hi, dad
