T.V. Cable

Ok.... I Have A 700R4 tranny that i got rebuilt, still a good torque converter, and finally hooked up my t.v. aka shift-down cable.... but it's slipping through 2nd and 3rd and red lined at 5500 into 4th.. Should i disconnect my t.v and adjust it with the screw threads on the upper end up or down? It's on a 1987 z28 w/ a 305 TPI. Everything's stock...

No, it's about a quarter inch play on both sides of the wire on the top side.... which is what their supposed to have on the top side the transmission guy did the bottom one and bolted it on there before i ever put it in....
