question about ckutch quick disconnect

i REPLACE CLUTCH, master and slave cylinder in my 99 camaro. Thne one night driving home my peddle hits the floor and stays there. look under car and the quick disconnect came loose and I can't get it to stay in every time I put it in and press the peddle down it comes loose again and fluid leaks out from where it connects to the slave. What am I doing wrong and how can I fix this problem?

Not sure what you mean by the "quick disconnect" but if you are talking about the hydraulic line running from the clutch master cylinder to the slave, this threads in. Are you sure you did not strip the threads when working on it?

Sounds like you are talking about the hydro line that clips in right to the slave. You just have to make sure you seat it all the way in there. You have to put some force behind it, make sure it clicks in.

yes thats it. How hard do you have to push that thing in there. and how do you get that much leverage to push any harder than I am?
What does it look like when all the way in?

Hello

I had a hard time with mine as well. I bench blend both the master and slave and when i went to connect them it would click in. I tried everything, here i loosened the slave bleeder a lil and there was alot of pressure in there from bleeding it and then it click in fine.

You might want to change that clip. If there is a crack or something in there i would assume it wouldn't hold up to the line pressure.

If thats the case you should have a new clip with your new slave. Check the dealers too.

What exactly does the clip look like?
Home Depot has a small items section where they sell all kind of parts that just might fit the bill of what youm are looking for. Over the years I've been able to find all kinds of items like fittings, clips etc that I needed just one of.

Gss9909- have you tried finding out if a new clutch line will have the clip?

Hydraulic Clip

Does anyone know what proper tool I need to disconnect that Hydraulic Line Clip- Summit Racing could not find the right size and tried to sell me a whole tool kit for $40.00- I just need the one.

Pulling off that same hydraulic slave to replace it- hope the new one clicks OK
