^probably had 3.23's before. the majority of a4=3.23 and 6 spd's=3.42

You should have went up to some 3.73's if you were getting all new gears... but you'll see an improvement either way. On my bro's Z the 3.73's and shift kit he has makes the car what it is.

My Z- an '01- came with 2.73's stock- I know GM was trying to maximize the CAFE MPG's, but, come on! I swapped a 3.42 axle from a wrecked WS6, and really woke it up- you will like it- seems to be a nice compromise for highway cruising and launching-

'01 Z28, former Federal undercover car- no, it's NOT a B4C- it IS a Z28- my mods: leather T/A seats, Monsoon CD Changer, 3.42 rear axle, 32 MM front sway bar- rear springs, shocks and panhard off a wrecked WS6, de-badged, UMI SFC's, torque arm and STB, 160 deg. t-stat, FTRA, SLP Y-pipe and lid.
