Basically, take the rear end cover off and let all the oil drain for a little while. I would inspect the rear end parts also. I've used both non-synthetic and synthetic. I had problems w/the limited slip clutches ratcheting when I used the non-synthetic oil in one of my 95's. I even used limited slip additive. I went back to using the non synthetic oil w/limited slip additive and the problem was cured. The owners manual didn't call for synthetic oil on it. My 99' called for synthetic oil for the rear end though. Royal Purple appears to make good oil, so that would be a consieration. Make sure you completely clean the surface before putting back together. Reg. gallon of Coastal oil, limited slip additive, and rear end gasket should roughly run about $15-20 from Auto Zone.
