Skip shift was something chevy put in to improve gas mileage. Anyway it won't let you shift into 2nd unless you are over 2500rpms, if your under it'll shift you to 4th. You can buy a shift kit eleminator for it and that should take care of the problem. Hope this helps.

summit and slp have skip shift eliminators that just plug in, their alittle pricey but they work fine.or you can just drive over it and shift like at 2700-3000 grand,but if you do alot of city driving it is still a pain, and you should opt for the eliminator setup.

if you're not an electrician major like me, you might check this site out. The kit cost a whole wopping $10 plus some pennies for shipping. Good luck!
