Trans bolt patterns
Anybody know if the bolt pattern of the 3.4l and 3.8l engines are the same? I'm planing a manual trans swap on my sons 3.8L A4. I found a 5 speed from a 3.8L, but I don't know if it will fit.

The 2.8, 3.0, 3.1 and 3.4 all have the same pattern. They are 60 degree V-6 engines.
There are 2 different 3.8 engines. One is a buick 231 CID and the other is a chevy 229 CID. The 231 has the buick,olds,pontiac bolt pattern and the 229 has the standard V-8 pattern.

All this I know. Just not sure what bolt pattern is used on the 2.8-3.4 engines, and which engine is in the 95 and newer camaros (229 or 231)

OPS...Just read my orignal post. The trans I found is from a 3.4V6. I'm not sure if it will work behind a 3.8V6
