Enough power for skip shift?

Just wondering but does everyone elses motor not really have enough power to use skip shift effectively? When I let it happen my motor lags really bad.... i figure its just because there not enough power at around 1000 which is were i normally end up after i shift from 1st to 4th but it seams like the factory would have made it more powerful in order to make it more comfortable when in 4th at low speed... I just wanted to know if a great deal of my power has been killed or what.... any help would be great

The idea behind it is when your not using any real power. Just bypass it and you won't miss it.

I have a few mods and my Z did the same thing till I got my skip-shift bypass plug in from Thunder Racing. I could'nt stand that damn thing!!! Sometimes I shift 1 3 5 6 or 1 2 4 5 6, it just depends on the driving situation. I know I am happy having a M6 instead of an A4 because I have alot of fun driving it!
