4L60E shift kit

For the 4L60E what is a better application? The B&M electronic shift kit or the Trans-Go shift kit? Can you use the together? Would that be pointless to use them together? The trans-Go is mechanically installed which would re-route the fluid, right? The B&M is just plugged in so how is that going to make a big difference? What one in your opinions is the better app?

I have the B@M and its not worth the money. Its not really a shift kit it just locks up the converter earlyer making it shift harder. But the fall back is since you have a electronic controled tranny your converter is locked at WOT so the only time it helps it at part throttle wich is just basicly annoying. Mine is in a 96 Impala SS and have about 60 passes on the car and about 1/2 with it on and 1/2 with it off and there is no difference in my ET's. My advice is get a real shift kit and a pcm reprograme and adjust you shift points. If you wanted to go the extra mile get a new stall, a 2600-2800 would probably do you good. Its more $$ than a shift kit but it will make a much bigger difference.

I like my b@m and all I do is reprogram my shift points. I started to install the mechanical kit but backed out after reading the installation instructions. I like the fact that I can adjust factory, firm, or Kick Butt on the fly!!! I leave it in the "firm" position all the time and definitly feel a difference.
I would love to purchase a stall converter and tranny cooler but look at the price. Maybe some day...

I just got the B&M hope it works out. I am going to get a stall, probably 2800 or 3200 don't know yet. I won't worry about that till I have $700. I am also going to put 3.73's in it. I am thinking I'll have those by spring.

I went with the B&M shift improver kit, not the elec switch, and installed it myself. Took about 2hrs, the hardest part is keeping the ballbearings in the right spot on the separator plate( a little dab of grease will hold the bearing in place). I did this over 2 years ago and my tranny is still holding up. Oh yeah, I took all the springs out and put spacers in the accumulator, so she smokes the tires in 2nd and squall 3rd and chirps 4th.

Best part of this deal is I got the the kit from Autozone for $29.95
