if you really into your car and dont mind spending money on tools then do it your self...however it is a very delicate thing to put in gears....call around to many shops...make sure they have experience on camaros....some shops will match competition prices....you will most likely pay about 250-500 for labor alone....best deal ive seen was i think 350-400 or so with labor, gears, and kit.....howevery he was a friend of the guy.

I strongly recommend that you have a shop you trust install them. I would not attemp to do it my self because you will need the right tools to measure and adjust everything. You would need to check and set pinion depth, set pinion preload, adjust backlash, set the bearing preload for the carrier bearings, then after its all together you gonna have to use a special paint that you put on the ring gear to check ring & pinion contact pattern. This is not something I would do over the weekend. If the rear is set up wrong, you'll end up with a noisy rear or the gears may end up eating eachother up.

If you have the gears and the install kid a good guestimate will be appx 200-400 in labor depending on the area. I also agree with everyone else here get them done professionally.

Keliente has a great write up on gear install in the articles section. Read it and decide if you wanna do it yourself. She tells all the tricks!

Don't forget.......to reprogram your engine's computer. Unless you get it sent out somewhere to be done, you'll have to spend a few hundred dollars on a programmer. Figure on spending a grand on this deal if you have a shop do the work...

I am sending my comp to Madz28.com for all the performance mods I've been doing over the summer. I have some time, the motor still is sitting on the engine stand, i will be throwing it together in about a week or 2.
