B&M megashifter

Hi All,
Just bought a used megashifter for my 73, Z28. How easy are they to fit? can I use the stock cable, or do I need a new B&M cable?, the wiring for N & P, can I keep on the steering colum, or do I need to wire into the B&M switch??

Thanks in advance
Trev.

use the stock cable and you'll have to rewire to the B&M shifter.

Are you sure the stock cable will work? I'm just asking cuz when I put a B&M mega shifter in my 80 camaro I had to use the B&M cable. There may have been an adapter but it was a long time ago I just can't remeber. As far as wiring the reverse lights and neutral saftey switch thats very simple. The factory switches are located on the lower portion of the steering column. Also if you are running headers the factor linkage from the shifter to the column that actuates the factor reverse lights and saftey switch will hit on the header collector. And will need to be removed.
