Re-bore or not to re-bore?

Wow it's been a really long time since I've posted here.

Anyway my question is that I'm rebuilding my 350 into a 383. I'm looking at kits and am ready to buy but I need the piston size (Stock, +.030, +.040, or +.060). Now years before I bought the car the engine was re done (1990) and was done .030 over. If my cylinder walls show no wear they're clean etc. do you suggest I get the .030 kit or do I bring it to my local shop and get them oversized again to 40 or 60.

Now this car is not a drag car of any sorts, its used on the street, shown...once I get my interior back together.... It's going to be a street machine. If that helps at all, but just wantedto say it wont be raced regularly maybe the once a year trip to the 1/4 mile during shows. Thanks!

You are looking at over 17 years of wear I would suggest going to .040 just to be on the safe side.

Oh yeah forgot to say that over 17 years it's done 15,000km so like 9000 miles. I guess I'm already spending the money, might as well take the safe route. Thanks

I agree, after going through all the trouble of a rebuild, might as well go a bit more over and have piece of mind that everything will be fresh .
