radio is locked?

i took off my neg battery cable the other day to reset some things and when i started the car up my radio was locked. when i bought the car it did the same thing and i had to go to the dealer to get it unlocked. does anybody know the code to unlock it?

hey it didnt work? it keep saying invalid code. were those instructions and codes for LT1's and LS1's? i have a 2000 Z so idk if that matters...

I'll have to look at the instructions that are in the Z... I remember the first time I tried to unlock mine, I had trouble with one part, and then I had "Doh!" moment and realized what I was doing wrong and it unlocked.

You did call and get your code right?

i figured out my codes. they were 872 878 and then i called and plugged them when told and it said invaild codes? idk

Once you call the line, press 1 then #.
you will hear the invalid code prompt.
You have to press 139010 then #.
You will be asked to enter your four or six digit code followed by *
Enter your 872 878 number (if that doesn't work, try it backwards 878 872) and then *
Get the four digit number they provide you.
Turn ignition on (LOC displayed)
use the MN and HR buttons to enter the four digit code
press am/fm button


That is what I have. the code I got is sure to be different from yours, but I was able to use that procedure to unlock.

well its still not working but my radio is a monsoon and NOT a delco... the guy says on the machine, "delco only" so im thinking i have the wrong place to call or something is messed up bc i followed the instructions from lovemyz28 and no go.

1. Press and hold presets 2 & 3 for about 10 seconds until the first 3 digits of the display code are displayed
2. Write the numbers down.
3. Press the AM FM button, write down the next 3 numbers
4. Call 1-800-537-5140, when asked, enter 139010*, when asked enter the 4 or 6 digit code (obtained from Steps 1-3) from the radio and an *, for example using my code, 702712*, you will get an unlock code, write it down.
5. Go back to the car, press the HR button and set the first 2 numbers, then press minute button and set the next two last numbers, press AM FM button, SEC should be displayed, turn on radio
To remove customers code, repeat step 5. you should see --- on radio face, the code is now out of the radio.
