LS3 question

Alright this is probably a noob question but, will the LS3 benefit from parts like the FAST LS6 style Intake w/ 92mm TB and the LS Hot Cam? Those parts along with intake, LT, and full exhaust is what I was thinking if I can get a 5th gen in Feb. I should have around 5k for mods if I get it and that will be the only thing done to it, with a tune of course

The intake should benefit it seeing as the FAST intake is bigger than the LS3 intake.
Also, full exhaust always helps the engine breathe a lot better on top of it making it sound a lot meaner too!

Actually you cannot run a fast 90 or 92/92 on that motor. Reason being that intake was made for cathedral heads and the LS3 heads are Square port. You can run the new 102 LSXr Fast intake but that might be a bit overkill on a stock motor.

I'm with the guy above put a cam in it.

Thanks for that info.....I'm out of work with an injury now though. That pretty much kills my thoughts on a 5th gen. Looks like I might just buy a LS1 4th gen.

no need to change the intake yet unless you are looking for some majoy power... like somehting over 700hp or so..

they already have some cars out there with CAI, headers, cam swap & tune putting down 470+rwhp

a CAI , exhaust and a tune alone will put right over the 400rwhp mark..

werd!

there are some people who have already put the LSXR intake on their cars, some with CAI, some with exhaust, but none too modified. overall gains..... 3-4 hp. unless you are pushing some serious power and have the ability to modify the individual runners in the LSXR intake, dont mess with it.

Master Z I thought the 2010 was 426 at the crank and somewhere around 410 on the ground?
