random stalling

hey guy's it's been a while since i've asked a question here but hope that you can help me out. i have a 96 z28 and recently it has been stalling out on me. let me explain a little more, the other day going to work was going to make a lane change and when i punched the gas the car downsifted, started reving up and it stalled, like if you would turn the the car off. got out from work, got on the highway, punched the gas again and it stalled, again, but this time it died. turned it on again and kept on running perfectly unless i sqeezed the pedal to the metal. picked up a friend that also has a 94 z28 trying to get an opinion, ran the car a couple of times WOT and the car DIDN'T STALLED!!!!!!!!! took it to the shop, scanned it adn threw 3 DTC's: p0336, p0336 and p1371.
the first 2 codes i don't know what to do with them, because i've already changed the CKP twice and the code remains. (suggestions are very welcome)
the third code it's the first time that i see it. read about it and changed the ICM just in case.
the stalling problem REMAINS.....
the only good thing i got out of all of this was that the cruise control started to work (2 years with the car and never worked untill today).
would really appreciate your help and knowledge....

p1370 is your opti and p0336 is caused by your opti. it's time for an opti...

That's what I had in mind. Today the car died on me on a traffic light and had to crank it up a couple of times to get it running. A curious thing was that when I was starting the car up, the tach and speedo needles were going up also. Is that part of that same problem? BTW thank you for your help. I really needed the opinion of someone more experienced than me with this car.

Well, that is the exact thing that my car did with the MSD opti on it. I would be going down the road and the car would just die. But, because the trans had locked up the converter, it would start it's self again. If it did it at a light, I would have to start it. Also, there were times when I would go out to the car, and play "will it start" lol. I would have to crank it for 5 seconds, let off for 2, then crank it another 5 seconds and it would fire. But, it would set that low res code every time.

And, I think I remember the needles jumping around as well. It's been a while since that has happened to me though.

Thank you for yor help and advice. Tomorrow I'll be working on the car if the weather permits. I'll be changing the opti (once more.....) and I'll let you know if the problem hopefully is over.

Well... I think that's it. Replaced the opti and the car fired up really nice. Drove it home and performed well. Hope it stays that way for at least a couple of years. Thank you for your help, was really appreciated.
