Need help with the new engine!!!
I've had the car running for awhile now but just haven't been running it because of completely redoing the body so its been setting for awhile. When I first start it up I have to keep bumping the gas to keep it running and after it starts to warm up it starts running ok but at a high idle ( like around 1000 rpm.) and never comes down even after its driven. Could it be the Idle Control Valve? Any ideas out there.........Thanks!

The first thing I'd do is get a tune. If you're running pig rich in open loop (richer than normal), it might not want to run while cold, then runs a little better when it gets to closed loop mode. You can try resetting your IAC valve, it probably wouldn't hurt anything.

Yeah Tom helped me out and you need to get the LT4KM if you have roller rockers like me.

Nah.......I just forgot to put it in there...I appreciate your help. I have just completely rebuilt this crazy thing from one end to the other and want it to be right. Runs good going down the road. And runs fine after it warms up just idles a little to high for me......Thanks again.

Probably need to set your TPS, and reset your ICM which you can read how to do this on redirect

With the reading that I have done, the TPS can be the cause of your high idle, and your stalling could be cause the IAC is not set correctly in the tune or it's going bad till it warms up.

As i said before the tps,and iac should be tested, but if you have a tune or not you need the lt4 KM that takes tons of timing out if you dont have one and will cause exactly whats going on with your car. was it a mail order tune or a data tune used with real world data?

If you pull your computer out, there will be a little cover with two screws. Take out the screws and it will be under that cover. Just pinch the little tabs and pull it up.

Thats the Knock module? My burned chip took the place of that in my 93 and the one that was sittin where the burned chip is is now plugged into the burned chip. So I would have to plug the knock module into my chip? I figure I prolby need the knock module since my rockers are noisy
