Unless you suspect something may have gotten into the lines, there really is no need to clean them out. A deep vacuum will ensure the lines, and all components, are clean and dehydrated.

Did you have your lines plugged? I would get a new dryer(evaporator) also. I agree, make sure you pull a vacuum on the system.

replacing your compressor

I dont think you need to do the receiver/dryer unless it one of those cheap enough parts..its easy enough to do if it leaks down when you have the system evacuated..that will also clean what little crap that may be in the lines..however if the old compressor seized the lines should be flushed and it isnt real easy to do thw whole system..what i suggest is you get a inline filter for the a/c
they run about 20-30.00 and are easy to install and it will keep any metal particles or other stuff from circulating through the system ..you put it in front of the new compressor that way when you fire it up it cleans the freon before the compressor...the receiver/dryer is the silver bottle the a/c lines go into..also i didnt catch the year of your car but if its pre 95 you should do the a/c conversion to r134a refrigerant..its just a couple fittings and different oil ..if you want to do that you can contact me and ill tell you about it..dont listen to the myth about having to change all the lines and stuff when ya convert..ive done over 200 at work..
good luck...Mark
