Horsepower on 96 LT1

what is the best add on for stock LT1 '96??

Does anyone know the stock horsepower also??

New to threads, new to car . Just got one at 11:30 this morning and trying to figure stuff out.

BTW, my dome light keeps coming on whenever i hit a bump...anyone got any advice on why??

The 96 and 97 are rated at 285 hp. A good cold air induction kit and good cat-back exhaust will be a very good place to start.

your hatch might not be shut all the way . . .thats why it comes on. . . probally

There are adjustable stops on both sides of your hatch. adjust them a little till the problem goes away. Or, you have a faulty switch,which is located on the latch.

how do you adjust the rear hatch. also, will this eliminate alot of the rattle in the back???? where are the adjustable stops???

One on each corner of the hatch. Raise it up and look under the rear edge in each corner and you should see them. My car has them, I think your should also. They are six sided rubber dealibobbers that thread up into the hatch (rear lid). Check also to make sure your latch is not loose.
