1995 Z 28 running really bad

I just purchased a really nice 62000 mile 1995 LT 1 Z28 today. I drive it home about 50 miles and no problem. I then take it for a ride and get on it a little and it starts to run really bad. No power loud knocking from underneith on the passenger side and really acting funny. I thought maybe it was hot so I let it set for a while and it still runs even worse. The car was owned by an older lady and had not been driven much in the past year. Please help!!!! any and all suggestions and comments welcome.

loud knocking?sounds like you need a new transmission mount, go with the polyeurothane one much ,much better...only 25 dollars at your nearest auto parts store...

Whenever I buy a car I usually go through and change plugs, wires, (coil while you are at it), fuel filter, air filter, flush tranny oil, flush radiator and oil change. This ensures it is up to par. Your problem might not be related to any of these. Running bad leads me to believe it might be your plug wires arching. When it acts up open hood (night time is better) and look at both sides of the engine. If arching you will see and hear it. You might also need to replace one of your mounts (tranny, motor) but that would not make it run bad. Give more details...high rpm's, low rpm's, all throughout powerband. Does it knock while running in park or neutral? Is it almost like a 7 cyl feeling?
