Usally they say use whatever color you have in there. I had the orange... Dexacool or something like that it's called, and the guys switched it over to the green stuff. It runs cooler when you are going cuz you are getting air through your radiator. These cars always run hot at idle. To make it run cooler you need to have the fans come on sooner, stock they come on at 226 degrees, which is too hot. I would buy a Jet Fan Switch to turn your fans on sooner, very easy to install and is $40 push shipping, will make your car run a lot cooler.

imho, I like getting the PCM tuned for the fans to come on sooner. It's automatic, and for about $80 or so you can get it powertuned. That's what I did on my 95 Z28. Works great. No fuss no muss.

I like both options Have the 160 thermo, tuning for the fans to come on earlier and also the fan switch. The reason I like the fan switch is you can turn the fans on high even though the computer isnt calling for it anytime you want. This helps nicely at the track to cool the car down.

I'm running green Advanced Auto antifreeze, also from what i was told, the orange leaves a residue and can clot things up.

I am also using 50/50 and I have Prestone. I have noticed that I run a bit cooler since changing over from the Orange Dex-cool. Hope this helps!!?
