Coolant Light

Sup Guys,
I have a problem. MY coolant light for a month now conituous keeps comeing on for some reason. This first started like 3 weeks after I got my head gaskets changed. When it first started I added some coolant. The light went off and I drove to school and when I got out of class and came back to my car I saw that a bunch of coolant had boiled over. Which means I had to much in. So I started the car and the light was back on. Every so often I would add coolant to see if ne thing else would happen but nothing really did.... it just boiled over. Another odd thing is that Ill come home for school and not run my car for like 5 hrs and then restart it and the light will come one. but If i drive it and only turn my car off for like 15 mintues and restart the car the light will go off. My car dosnt run overly hot but consistantly past the middle unless I turn on Max AC which brings it a little below middle. Any sudjestions?

K, fellas, now I am still a beginner at this, but got another question to add to this and possibly an answer.

I am under the impression that there is a sensor in the overfill container? Is this correct? And if so, could there be a malfunction with it in this case?

The sensor is located about 4-6" down from the radiator cap on the radiator itself.

Thanks to shoebox for the picture.

Just pull your battery out so you can get to it easier, pop the metal retainer clip off the sensor, pull it out and stick your finger in the hole so you dont lose coolant, then take the new sensor, stick it in the hole, put the retainer clip on and plug it up. Put the batter back and your ridin again. Took me about 15 minutes.
