You could but it would have to be an aftermarket ignition system and would be independantly controlled (no ECM advance or retard) and the ECM would probably start throwing all kinds of codes because of it.
Also you can't just pitch the opti spark. The camshaft/crankshaft position sensor needed for injection timing is contained in there and needs to be kept. You could just not use the spark portion of the distributor. |

Ive seen a kit that did it. Cant remember where at though, ill do some research tonight and see if i can find it. It used the opti for the Crank sensor and had coil packs for each cylander. It was pretty expensive though as i recall. The good thing about it was that you could pull your rotor out of the opti and it would last pretty much forever, b/c all that was in there was the sensor.
