a 350 3rd gen can get into the 9s/8s. All depends on whats done to the motor, how the car is set up, etc.

obviously, at the extreme end, the car would be a strictly race car.

Well a 350 doesnt narrow do the choices much lol are you talking stock bore and stroke or what? I mean my block is still a 350 but its stroked .. if done right you can get in 9's (my buddies LUV does that on a NA 388 stroker .. pure race though) If you wanna see some crazy low low times do all them big mods on a big block make twice as much power and they do it with less stress! now everyone will say "but you will be putting in more weight" ... uhh no! not really they only weight afew more them one .. put one in our car with alum. intake and water pump and no emssions and smog stuff .. weight the same as the car did from factory!

Well an idea would be to buy a 383 stroker kit (they are cheap enuff now days to do 'em) since you already have a .030 bore it would work hand in hand .. and its a nite and day difference (I had a mild 355 before my 383 went in .. gotta bbc now when time comes to drop that in tons of pics and parts list I will share for all who wants to do 'em)

I read about a car with a 305ci a few years ago in Super Chevy or something that had turned either 8s or 9s!

yup . seen that one . Also I think you can go faster than ( with a 350) . Heck them Ford's are running 7's in the 1/4 ( blown but.... )

But when you are getting to these levals ... that car won't be close to a daily driver

Agree bro! ;D its just depending on what you want .. but go to big of parts and whatnot them maybe an aftermarket motown block would be a good idea (spend alot of cash in parts .. the factory cast will only do so much .. but thats just on the safe side! the factory stuff will last awhile though but 1000+ hp I say move up to aftermarket block lol)

fo'sure about the wanting an aftermarket block . I am starting to read about some guys useing that block filler and , haveing great success with it holding together . . I am gonna have 13psi with a dinky turbo running high 10's ( other have ...same setup ) . Thats nothing really exotic either ( only a set of 113's on it , some dished pistons and TPI ) . SO imagine , if I can be a novice and bolt that kinda hp , what kinda could a pro get

LONG LIVE THE SBC !!!!!
