radiator overflow cap and light

well I just relaced my motor and keep running into problems.Today my low coolant light came on so I checked the coolant and added a little and the light is still on I have no idea what it could be and also when I took off the radiator overflow cap the little ring on the cap broke and now it won't screw on tight. Will that affect my driving or will it pop off due to pressure.I'm going to get a new one on monday but I'm doing alot of driving to break in my motor but I don't want the cap to pop off please help

The low coolant light is a nuisance on all of our cars Seems like once they light up they get stuck and wont go back off. As for the cap you need to get one ASAP because if its not on tight you have a chance of it sucking in air and you dont want any air in the system or you will start to overheat.
