I hate it! The first thing I do when I start the car is turn the asr off.

Heck, helps me out when it rains and my tires were getting worn out. Saves me a bunch in winter with the snow. But as others have stated, when the weather is nice out, first thing you do when you turn your car on is turn ASR off.

T-boned

I almost got T-boned twice in the last 7 days because of ASR.

I went to pull out in front of a truck making a right turn. As soon as I pressed the gas, the thing kicked on and the truck had to jam the brakes to keep from hitting me.

Normally the car would have gotten on the road and took off.

The same thing happened again as I pulled out of the road out of my development. Some Dodge truck pulling a boat. I didn't want to be behind him so I nailed it and then the thing totally bogged down in front of him.

I think the only thing ASR would be good for is once you're on the highway and it's raining and you hydroplane or if you're on the highway and hit a patch of black ice. Other than that, it's totally useless. That thing should never kick on unless you're already doing over 40 MPH.

i dont know man... i like it and i dont. my 95Z has almost no options except for that. and it helps a lot in the rain. and i havent always had the best tires. but yea at times if you forget its on... its a pain. i visited my dad and my entire family back home like a year ago and they said they wanted to see me play around in my car... so i did. but i forgot to take it off. i gunned it in a turn as they watch. its did nothing. they gave me a ^&$% load of BOOs and i got pissed... lol. i turned it off and proceeded to choke them with white smoke!

Not exactly following the topic but my 95 has almost every option, including a factory telephone, but it doesn't have the ASR....

That's the one thing mine doesn't have. I really liked it on my first 99, but now that I've got more experience I'm glad it's not on there.
